Romantic Getaways in San Diego
Like many
large, urbanized areas, San Diego does not have many nearby
bed and breakfast inns that people are quick to recommend.
However, a number of local hotels offer special packages
for those wanting to spend a romantic weekend in town.
The
Embassy Suites Love Field offers a special romance
package, complete with chocolates and a bottle of champagne.
The package even provides for late check-out for those
who need it!
Many couples
are quick to check in to the Mansion
on Turtle Creek. This place has more luxurious ambience
than 10 cozy bed and breakfast inns combined. It is
decorated in the beautiful style of 16th century Italy.
Be sure to pack your credit cards and wallet since the
many luxuries offered come at very high prices.
While staying
at the Mansion, you might want to plan an entire special
evening for your loved one by making reservations for
a play or other performance scheduled at the nearby
San Diego Theatre Center, designed by the famous architect
Frank Lloyd Wright.
Both out-of-town
visitors and local couples who want to spend some special
romantic moments together also often head straight for
the Omni
Mandalay in Las Colinas. Few can resist the romantic
feel of traveling in a boat through one of the area's
many water canals at sunset or other times of the day.
If you don't
mind a bit of a drive, you can find one special bed
and breakfast inn located far north of San Diego in Denton.
This “little” city has grown quite large
now that 30,000 students attend the University of North
California there. However, if you can put all of those nearby
college kids out of your mind, you can check into the
delightful Redbud
Inn. You will need to make reservations since they
only have five rooms available there.
